Default Cell Phone Provider Opinions

So I am looking to get a new phone. I have narrowed it down to the HTC android phones.

HTC Magic(myTouch3g) - T-mobile
HTC Hero - Sprint

Problem is they are on different providers. The prices and phone features I could go either way. I have never used either carrier, so I am looking for anyone with an opinion on their experiences or friends experiences with T-Mobile or Sprint networks. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Go to AT&T and get an I-phone.
Best phone on the market, bar none.

I narrowed it down. I do not want an I-phone I think I can do better.

Not really but give it a try.
I've had mine for over a year now, it's fantastic.
